❀️ Diabetes + Your Heart ❀️

Part of staying healthy with diabetes is protecting your heart.

People with diabetes are twice as likely to have heart disease than people without diabetes.

  • Fibrous foods help lower cholesterol. High fiber foods are whole grains, most vegetables, beans and fruit.
    • Remember- vegetables that are not very fibrous are the starchier ones- corn, potatoes and peas.
  • Healthy breakfasts are difficult for many people. Try these 4 tips for improving your heart health in the morning:
    • Increase Fiber
    • Increase Protein
    • Add healthy Fat
    • Move your body!
